A late delivery from Eastgate

The weekend entertainment is secured! Today I received a large parcel with the newest of TD items. Although it was shipped a week later than stated on the website, and the releases had been postponed several times, it was definitely worth the wait.

AUTUMN IN HIROSHIMA
The album comes with a signed Japanese calligraphy by Edgar Froese, for the first 300 to order the album at Eastgate. Mine is number 34/300. Very nice.

First impression:
Ethnic. Atmospheric. Spiritual. Mystical. Could be a real grower of an album. So far, only 7/10.

FALLEN ANGELS

A so-called "minicup-disc", which is in fact just a three-track single or EP. Comes with a photoshopped cover, which does not feature Iris Camaa (like some were speculating), but a porn model doing her thing.

First impression: None, actually - apart from some contemporary rocking music and a Mini Moog solo. Very good. 6/10

THE EPSILON JOURNEY
A dvd of the Eindhoven concert in April, with only Edgar Froese compositions.

First impression: I don't like the way TD do dvd's. They are often mixed in a weird fashion without congruity between music or images.
This time TD takes it to the extreme, and it works!
I'd rather watch hand-held audience recordings of the previous TD concerts, than their dvd releases. This time TD get's artsy-fartsy and makes a longform music video rather than a live document - and it works as good as the "Madcap's Flaming Duty" video.
If we can't get the real deal - then I'm very content with this piece of art. It's not pretending to be anything else, than what it is: delicious eye candy!
In addition to the visual side, this is the best imaginable portfolio of Edgar Froese compositions, and the band is very tight. Recommended. 8/10

DAS ROMANTISCHE OPFER

The second time I buy this "minicup-disc", actually. Musically it's nothing special, epic and a little boring at the same time. But when I ordered the notepad online, Eastgate nicely reminded of the offer I could get if I paid only four euro's more: an autographed postcard and the EP!

DM4 BONUS DISC

I had to buy "DM4" again, in order to get the 2-track bonus disc. It was worth the cost, and I now also have a sealed copy of DM4!

Thanks to Eastgate, Edgar and TD for the wonderful sights and sounds. I know what to do throughout the weekend.
