Host Delphine Blue welcomes Edgar Froese, founding member of electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream, to the EVR studio for a chat. Froese, along with Conrad Schnitzler and Klaus Schulze, co-founded Tangerine Dream in 1967 and has been the sole constant member in the band’s five-decade spanning career. As a solo artist and ringleader for the German space unit, Froese is responsible for some of the most popular (and far-out) synthesizer-based music of the ‘70s and beyond. Froese’s appearance comes ahead of the Tangerine Dream tour of North America that begins on June 30th in Montreal and hits the Best Buy Theater in NYC on July 7th. There’s also Tangerine Dreams—a retrospective of films featuring soundtracks from the groundbreaking group—taking place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music from June 1st through the 7th, which you can read about here.
